I live in the Northern Rivers Region of New South Wales, an area that offers a wonderful variety of natural environments for me to use as a starting point for my art work.
As well as the natural world I am also interested in capturing the man made relics of the past in this environment before they are removed or reclaimed by encroaching vegetation. Thus the disused railway system was the subject of an exhibition with a fellow painter in February 2015.
The landscape of my home country, New Zealand, has also provided subject matter for my work, in five visits made over the last few years.
I work in a variety of media; principally in oils and acrylic for work on canvas, and watercolour and gouache for work on paper when drawing en plein air.
